The shri Bodgeshwar temple is located near mapusa at about 12kms from panaji. The temple is situated amongst Rice fields just outside mapusa city .locally the place is known as a Bodgini, it has a shrine which is dedicated to kanakeshwar baba or Bodgeshwar.

Bodgeshwar jatra

The famous five days jatra of lord Bodgeshwar began with religious fervor in mapusa on Saturday. The jatra of lord Bodgeshwar who is considered as the guardian of mapusa is a very popular festival of North goa and attended by people of all walks of life .

All temples in mapusa have offered fruits n flowers to shri Bodgeshwar. In the afternoon chief Minister promod Sawant visited the temple and took the blessing leader of opposition and mardgao MLA digambar kamat and health Minister vishwajit Rane also visited.

Fort Aguada is a well preserved seventeenth century portuguese along with a lighthouse standing in goa India on sinquerim Beach overlooking the Arabian sea. The Fort Aguada is open all days of week from 9.30am to 6.00pm. The fort is located on the Aguada Silliman road in sinquerim.

Aguada lighthouse

The Aguada lighthouse was built in 1864 on a hill located on the west to the fort . It is one of the oldest in Asia . It was replaced by a new lighthouse in 1976 after serving for about a century. The Aguada fort also number along its splendors a four storeys lighthouse. This lighthouse was built in 1864 and is the oldest of its kind in Asia.

Aguada Central Jail

Aguada central jail is a part of the fort and which was the largest prison in Goa till 2015 . The 17th century portuguese structure has been renovated by the Goa Tourism Development corporation along with Goa Heritage Action . Part of the fort has been converted into the Aguada Jail ,which mainly houses those accused of narcotics sale of drugs and trafficking . This is one of the largest jails in Goa ,and since it is very much in use is closed to members of the public.
